    Looking to kick-start a career in tech, operations, or cyber/crypto? This is a hands-on, entry-level opportunity to join a critical global operations team within a financial services firm, working with secure systems in a data centre environment.

    The Role

    You’ll be based in secure data centre rooms supporting day-to-day operations, learning how critical systems are managed and protected. No prior experience needed — just curiosity, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

    The Details

    • Location: Barnsley Data Centre (J36, 1 mile from M1)
      Occasional support at Wakefield if interested
      Contract location listed as Sheffield

    • Working pattern: 3 days per week (Mon/Wed/Fri – flexible)

    • Hours: 9am–5pm (no out-of-hours work)

    • Duration: 2 years (strong likelihood of going permanent)

    • Rate: £150–£200 per day

    • Team: Supportive UK-based team focused on up skilling junior talent

  • What you’ll do:

    • Maintain and update system inventories (data entry into databases)

    • Create and manage service desk tickets

    • Support secure key custodian activities (key generation for global systems)

    • Work with global teams across the US, Mexico, and Hong Kong

    • Assist with lifecycle management of secure hardware (delivery, install, monitoring, replacements)

    What We’re Looking For

    • School leavers, graduates, or early-career candidates

    • A “get up and go” attitude and strong attention to detail

    • Comfortable using Windows, Zoom, and basic systems

    • Happy working in a structured, secure environment

    • Keen to build a long-term career in Operations, Crypto, or Technology

  • Frameworks & tools

    • Strong understanding of NIST and related security frameworks

    • Experience with architecture modelling tools (BizzDesign, Archi, UML or similar)

    • Jira and Confluence for delivery tracking and documentation

    Qualifications (preferred)

    • Degree in computer science, software engineering, cybersecurity, or related field

    • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent security certification

    • TOGAF or SABSA certification
